Ingredients: Apple cider vinegar

Instructions: To control foot odor, soak your feet in one-third cup of apple cider vinegar added to a small pan of warm water for 15 minutes. This foot odor remedy can be done as often as necessary.

Ingredients: Vinegar

Instructions:  Create a Vinegar Bath for daily soaking of your feet.  Mix 1 part vinegar and 2 parts warm water.  Soak your feet for 15 minutes.  The aim is to reduce the level of bacteria that causes the odor.

Ingredients: Tea

Instructions: Use 4 or 5 tea bags to a quart of water. Allow to cool, and soak feet for about 20 minutes each day.  Dr. Kosinski states that tea soaks are “one of the most effective home remedies.”

Ingredients: Kosher Salt

Instructions:  Salt washes are another effective home remedy.  Pour 1/2 cup kosher salt into 4 cups water, soak for 10-15 minutes, and dry thoroughly. You can also use Epsom salts; consult a doctor for proportions.

Ingredients: Epsom Salt

Instructions:  Dissolve half a cup of Epsom salt in a tub or large bowl of warm water.  Soak your feet for about 15 to 20 minutes.  The Epsom salt will pull moisture out of your skin, which in turn makes the foot area a less-inviting place for bacteria to survive

Ingredients: Baking soda, Powders or Corn Starch

Instructions: For foot odor, sprinkle a teaspoon of baking soda inside each shoe before putting them on. The baking soda will help to absorb moisture and odors.  Baby powder, corn starch, and talcum powder are said to absorb extra moisture as well.  This may make your feet smell quite lovely in the process.

Ingredients: Alum powder

Instructions:  Put lotion on your feet (to keep the powder on your foot), then the powder, put socks on. Do this at night while you sleep. This will dry your feet. Repeat this remedy for about a week or as needed. Alum can be purchased in your supermarket’s spice section.

Ingredients: Bleach

Instructions: Put a little bleach in warm water and soak your feet for 10 minutes.  Note – go light on the bleach.
